Sustainability Policy
Park House Veterinary Centre is an independent first-opinion small animal practice offering a range of services from routine consultations to certificate level medicine, surgery and cardiology.
Our proud and passionate team consists of our client care advisers, veterinary care assistants, veterinary nurses and veterinary surgeons, who all strive to provide outstanding care and service to the pets and people of Stafford, West Midlands.
We acknowledge that all aspects of business have the potential to impact the environment. This can occur in a variety of ways, including greenhouse gas pollution, waste production and chemical pollution. Through the implementation of this policy, we aim to reduce the environmental impact of our operations whilst maintaining the highest standards of care for our patients.
We have identified 3 main areas in which to reduce our environmental impact:
- Greenhouse gas production
- Recycling and waste management
- Use of medicines
We have highlighted key action points which will allow us to reduce our impact, focusing on the points listed above:
- Conducting an annual waste survey and ensuring awareness of recycling procedures, and reducing our use of single use plastics where possible
- Monitoring usage of gas, electricity, water and transport and identifying areas for reduction
- Minimising our clinical greenhouse gas production by reducing inhalant anaesthetic use where possible
- Encouraging active travel for our employees and clients
- Advocating for responsible medicine usage, encouraging return of unused medicines and performing responsible disposal
- Implementing responsible preventative care strategies
- Using our practice management system to encourage sustainability idea sharing within the team
Our commitment to improving our sustainability is ongoing. This sustainability policy is available on our website, and we welcome suggestions from our client base via our Client Care Team.
The current practice sustainability champion is Jonah Beadle.
The policy will be subject to regular review by the company directors.
